Rebuilding Scotty Table and Replacing Potty Room Wall

Here is how it
looks all refinished.
Sorry,
I did not take any
before
pictures, other than what is in the
“Before” tab. The top side of the table had a 1/4” of a
formica/hardboard
type counter top glued to it. Over the years the hardboard
started to
bubble, and after removing the edge trim, the hardboard
stuff came
right off. I then glued down new formica to the
plywood.
But
this left about a 1/4” thinner piece of plywood. So in
order to
keep it fitting correctly, I shimmed the table leg with a
1/4” piece
of plywood.
So I
attached a new set of fasteners to the bottom of the
table (filled the other holes and painter over the wood
putty).
The
bottom side of the table also needed shimming.
I
also added the latching hook & eye to hold the leg in
place.
And
this is the other side of the latch which holds the leg up
under
the table when the table is folded down into a
bed.
