First
of all, any plans I have here are dependent on time and
and
financial means. It just might take a few years to
complete.
So,
IF I have the time and money, here are my
plans:
Here it is ready to be taken home from its former home near
Scranton, PA
Would like to install a back bumper and spare tire holder.
I'm not
sure the tires need replacing, but they are very old.
And I plan
on packing the wheel bearings before any long trips this
summer.
Would like to install dual tank holder here, fix jack
and
find wheel for jack. Would like to install battery
box here.
The yellow marker lights need replacing, and the back
license plate light needs replacing.
"Stylish" Diamond Shaped front windows. Some have
Plexiglas
instead of glass. Plan on installing real glass in
the windows and
will polish up the aluminum and replace all rusted screws
with
stainless steel screws. Plan on repainting the
outside of Scotty.
Will also rebuild the door, its got problems. This
particular
wall on the Scotty has rot problems and needs replacing.
Needs new paint and drapes. This is Lynn's department.
I'll let her pick out the colors and fabric, I'd only get
it wrong anyway.
The table top is in fairly bad shape. So this might
get new Formica top also.
The dinette cushions were thrown out, so they need
replacing with
new fabric and seat covers.
At some point in its life, someone got a little
wild with the grey paint... its on everything! All
the hinges
are painted, all the knobs and fasteners are painted and
also
the plastic trim pieces around the outside of the doors are
painted,
and the shiny aluminum trim around all the windows is
painted.
Plan to strip the paint from the hardware and replace the
cabinet door
trim pieces with new plastic trim. And plan on
stripping the paint from
the window trim.
Needs new drawer under sink. Will most likely replace the
sink
with a stainless steel one, the stove with a one or
two-burner model
and the counter top with some type of retro-print formica
to match table.
Non-working furnace on far left will also be removed and
replaced
with a wall-mounted Mr. Heater Furnace, only to be used
when
it gets cold enough outside.
Cabinet above sink, with all painted hardware and trim. The
DC/AC light is falling apart and needs replacing. The
Gas
light is in good shapes, just needs cleaning.
Bunk above gaucho will be removed and cabinets will be
installed.
Gaucho will be removed and permanent non-folding bed
installed.
Will also put a small flat-screen AC/DC LCD TV someplace
in the back of the trailer on the wall when funds are
available.
The fact that this TV system will be going away in Feb. of
’09
makes it a little more difficult. The same kind of
wall mounted
affordable Digital TVs are not out yet. So not sure what
the
solution is. And the free converter box from the FCC will
only
suck more of my valuable AC battery power.
This is the ice box. At some point this will be
replaced with a DC/AC/Gas unit when we
have the $$$$$. Also plan on installing
a microwave above fridge or maybe under the stove.
Here is what is left of the toilet closet. Not sure why it
was ever
removed. We plan to put it back, and "try" installing a
shower.
The camper needs to be re-wired to bring it up to
code. Don't think
the wiring here and a shower will work too well together
:-)
Note more painted hinges and latches. Upper two doors
where
added later, they are not stock.
